Ordination of Emma Rolls as Priest
It was a wonderful evening in St Michael and All Angels Church, Bramcote on Monday as the Revd Emma Rolls was ordained Priest by Bishop Paul.
The Revd Craig Hunt, Diocesan Director of Ordinands unpacked a little of what it meant to be a Priest, as he considered the image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd from John’s Gospel. He reminded Emma that she was called to model her ministry on Jesus, the Good Shepherd: remembering who He is, listening to His voice and following Him. There was also a reminder that a Priest is called not just to serve the Church, but the wider parish as immediately after the service the bishop led Emma through and then outside the Church.

Before training for ordained ministry, Emma studied Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Nottingham. She subsequently attended St Mellitus College, East Midlands and was ordained deacon in June 2024. Emma began her new role at St Michael’s over the summer and will continue in the parish for the remainder of her curacy.
Please join us in praying for Emma in this new phase of ministry.
