Outstanding Ofsted grade for Lowdham Church of England Primary School
Lowdham Church of England Primary has maintained its Ofsted outstanding rating after first achieving it in 2011.
When Ofsted visited, the school were working on end-of-year productions as well as hosting sports and transition days. The inspectors said pupils are given chances to shine and grow in so many areas, not just maths and English.
The inspectors added that kindness was at the heart of the school’s work which shines through their change makers scheme, which encourages the children to think about how they can make a positive impact in the world. The current successes include raising money for Ukrainian refugees, funding for a school defibrillator and working with a village in Ghana.
The headteacher Ben Waldram said, “I am leaving Lowdham this summer as I have a new job in a different school. I will be leaving with so many happy and proud memories; it has been a genuine privilege to work with the staff here – they are exceptional! The children are wonderful, and it is so good that we can officially say their conduct and behaviour for learning is outstanding too.
I have learnt so much about being a headteacher these last six years. Working with an incredibly hard-working and skilful team of staff, dedicated governors, supportive parents and amazing children has all contributed to our continued success. I will forever hold Lowdham in my heart and know that everyone who steps through the doors is welcome to shine like a star.”
