School of Worship 2026

The School of Worship is a programme run as a collaboration between the diocese and Trinity Church Nottingham open to anyone who is part of a church within the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. This year, Tom Walters (Diocesan Contemporary Worship Lead) and Hannah Crutch (Diocesan Worship Leader Facilitator) will be helping to run the course which will take place over six Saturdays in 2026.

Topics covered will include:

  • Leading from from a place where the Holy Spirit’s abundance flows through you
  • Preparing our hearts to worship
  • Crafting a set list
  • Spontaneous worship and looking at practical ways to help facilitate this
  • Practicing how to lead a congregation into praise and worship
  • Leading a worship band and setting culture within the team

Previous participants shared:

“I feel more confident going into planning worship sets, but also knowing what I want to lead people into.”

“The golden nuggets of advice that we’ve received from the guests on the programme have been amazing – it will help me to lead people into a place where they can respond to and hear from God.”

“It’s been great to look at all different types of worship, the history of worship, what the Bible teaches us about worship and focussing on where worship fits into the Christian walk.”
