St Mary’s East Leake Good Friday Walk
Every Easter, people from across the East Leake Benefice join together for the Good Friday Walk: an all day ramble through the South Notts countryside, visiting each of our village churches to worship, pray and tell the story of the Cross of Christ.
This year saw around 100 people joined in for at least part of the day, with around 20 walkers (and 3 dogs!) completing the entire route.

At each stop, vicar, Rev Tim Parker, led them through a part of Mathew’s Gospels, unpacking the message of Easter. The older walker was in their 80, and the youngest just 3.

Walkers commented on appreciating the chance to meet and get to know lots of different people throughout the day, to be immersed in the Good Friday story and to be a part of the church’s visible celebration of Easter across south Nottingham.
