You’re invited: Diocesan Safeguarding Conference 2025
This year’s Diocesan Safeguarding Conference is coming up on Saturday 5th July at The Minster School in Southwell, and this year for the first time, the conference is open to everyone serving in parish roles, paid or volunteer, as well as all clergy.
Safeguarding is an important part of our shared life and ministry. Building upon last year’s conference focus on the National Safeguarding Standards and as we look ahead to next year’s INEQE Safeguarding Audit, the conference is a great opportunity to come along with your parish team to network and learn more.
This year’s conference takes a fresh approach, focusing on how we can better support vulnerable people within our church communities. Together, we are called to care for and protect the most vulnerable among us and the conference will give us the opportunity to grow in this shared responsibility.
There will be two guest speakers who will offer both practical advice and meaningful insight. Richard Kubon from Nottinghamshire Police will speak on safeguarding those at increased risk of online fraud. Amy Hollingsworth, a specialist occupational therapist, will guide us in creating environments that are inclusive and welcoming for neurodiverse children.
Watch the video below to hear more from Julian (Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser) and Steph (Safeguarding Training Coordinator & Parish Support Officer).
It is going to be a great day and spaces are filling up, so we’d really encourage to sign up via the link below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Steph at stephanie.spencer@southwell.anglican.org.
