42 Candidates Confirmed at St Mary’s Arnold and St Peter’s Ruddington

We’re thankful for two joyful confirmation services that took place in the diocese this month, as 42 candidates across St Mary’s, Arnold, and St Peter’s, Ruddington, were confirmed in the presence of family and friends!

St Mary’s Arnold

Sunday was a spirit filled evening at St Mary’s, Arnold, as ten candidates from across different ages and backgrounds were confirmed. The service was a wonderful occasion of celebration and testimony. Bishop Andy preached from Mark 4, the Parable of the Sower, reflecting on spiritual fruitfulness and Gospel multiplication, and prayed for the Holy Spirit’s continued work in each of the candidates’ lives.

St Peter’s Ruddington

It was also another joyful evening on 5th October at St Peter’s, Ruddington, as Bishop Paul confirmed thirty-two candidates! The candidates ranged in age from under twelve to over sixty and came from a wonderful mix of churches from St Giles, West Bridgford; St Paul’s, Boundary Road; St Stephen’s, Sneinton; St Mary the Virgin, Bulwell; and St John’s, Bulwell.

It was such a privilege to hear their stories of faith and to pray together for the Holy Spirit to fill them as they committed themselves to following Jesus.

Confirmations are an invitation for people to renew their baptism vows, receive prayer for a fresh indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and to profess their faith publicly, often with family and friends there to support.

Please join us in praying for all those who have been confirmed this Sunday, that their faith will grow day by day as they live and share in the living hope of Christ.
