Acting Residentiary Canons Installed at Southwell Minster
‘Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.’ Isaiah 60:1
On Monday, churches across our diocese celebrated Epiphany. At Southwell Minster, this was a particularly special occasion as during the service Revd Amanda Lees and Revd Canon Stephen Hippisley-Cox were warmly welcomed and installed as Acting Residentiary Canons.
Stephen will be Acting Canon Pastor, which will include taking a particular lead in the pastoral care and discipleship of the Minster community (while continuing with his role as Vicar of the Benefice of Willoughby on the Wolds with Wysall and Widmerpool and Area Dean for East Bingham).
Amanda will be moving from her current role as Interim Head of Staff for the Bishop’s Office to be Acting Canon Missioner, taking a lead in the mission and outreach of the cathedral in Southwell.
Please join us in praying for them in this new season of ministry, and that they both will be filled afresh with compassion, confidence and courage as they continue to follow God’s call in their lives.
