Archbishop of York to Visit the Diocese
Later this month, the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, is making a missionary visit to the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Archbishop Stephen will be with us on 22nd-24th November, and will be visiting various churches, schools and organisations during his visit. He aims to share in and encourage the mission of the Church here in the diocese, as we seek to grow disciples of Christ with compassion, confidence and courage.
During his visit, the Archbishop will visit two schools in Hucknall, joining in with collective worship activities and meeting pupils and staff, as well as visiting Nottingham City Transport with our Workplace Chaplain, Revd. Jo Tatum, and attend a Notts County match with Revd. Liam O’Boyle (Partnerships Officer and Notts County Chaplain).

Reflections on Faith and Ministry with Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
East Bingham Deanery invites you to the Thomas Cranmer Centre from 10am on Saturday 23rd November, for a chance to meet the Archbishop and hear his reflections on faith and ministry throughout his life. Refreshments will be served from 9.30am. Places are limited – book here.
Spirituality and Prayer: An Evening with the Archbishop of York
St Paul’s Boundary Road invites you to an evening with the Archbishop of York. Join from 6pm for a ‘social eating’ event, including a free two course meal. Then from 7.15pm hear an interview with Archbishop Stephen as he shares his reflections on prayer and Christian spirituality. Places are limited – book here.
Christ the King Service of Confirmations at Southwell Minster
The Archbishop’s visit will conclude at Southwell Minster on Sunday morning. Archbishop Stephen will be lead and preaching at the service for the Christ the King Service of Confirmations. All are welcome from 10am.
We’re looking forward to welcoming Archbishop Stephen, hearing from him and sharing some of what God is doing in and through our diocese.
