New support and grants available for church buildings
We're pleased to announce that as part of the Church Commissioner’s £11 million Building for Mission fund, administered by the Archbishops’ Council over the period 2023 to 2025, the diocese was recently awarded funding towards building repairs and specialist advice to parishes. Part of this funding has been used to employ a Church Buildings Support Officer, and Stephen Watson has recently been appointed to this post. Free hot drinks for students with Holy Trinity Lenton’s coffee cart
This week has been Welcome Week at the University of Nottingham, and as part of a week of various outreach events for students, Holy Trinity Lenton headed out with their coffee cart to hand out free hot drinks on University Park campus, meeting both freshers and returning students. An exciting launch for the new Flourish ‘church in school’ pilot
On Wednesday afternoon pupils, teachers, school chaplains and church leaders gathered at Jubilee House for the diocesan launch of the Flourish pilot. Thursday 5th September was a joyful evening as Revd Jenni Foreman was licensed as Vicar of Christ Church, Worksop and St Luke's, Shireoaks and Rhodesia. Church School Leaders gather for a day of unity
On 3rd July a number of our church school leaders gathered together to learn from each other, refresh their vision and share communion together. Over 1000 people attend church fun days
Over the past couple of weeks, a number of churches across the diocese have hosted community fun days, collectively welcoming over 1000 people from their parishes for a day of fun with bouncy castles, music, activities, stalls and free food.
