Diocesan Day of Prayer: 14th November
It was wonderful to gather last week in the Southwell Minster State Chamber for the restart of the Diocesan Days of Prayer.
The Diocesan Day of Prayer reflects one of our seven focus areas, ‘Nurturing Prayer’ which has inspired creative ways to engage in prayer, including the successful Prayer Run held during October half-term (21st–26th). During the run, we prayed for Living Hope across the city, towns, and villages of Nottinghamshire and beyond. You can read more about the Prayer Run here.
The evening was a special time of worship, prayer, and sharing uplifting stories from across the diocese. One particularly inspiring testimony came from a parish who did have just two children attending on a Sunday, but have now had to start extra kids groups due to an increase in children attending the church, a beautiful testament to our vision of seeing young people come to know and love Jesus and learn to live as His followers.
Our next Diocesan Day of Prayer will take place on 12th December in the State Chamber at Southwell Minster from 7:30–9:00 pm (refreshments served from 7:00 pm). This will be another opportunity to pray, worship, and listen to God together as a diocese.
We are praying for a fresh move of God’s Spirit across Nottinghamshire and hope these evenings will be a source of encouragement, blessing, and renewal. Whether you come as a church group, a leadership team, or individually, this is a chance to receive, be refreshed, and be encouraged.
