Easter at Wiverton in the Vale

Wiverton in the Vale were delighted to welcome back LAMPs Collective to St Andrew’s Church, Langar on Palm Sunday to stage their production of The Passion on 13 April. The LAMP collective has also staged the wonderful performance of Salt and Light in October.

Told from the perspectives of Peter, Mary Magdalene and a Roman centurion named Marcus, this powerful contemporary drama leads us up to and through the events of Holy Week, to the cross and beyond. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus are recreated in this moving, memorable and ultimately joyful retelling of the Easter story.

The packed church of people from the parish and beyond were captivated by an engaging and emotional retelling of the Easter story. People stayed after the show to mingle and chat over light refreshments – a perfect start to Holy week.
