St Peter’s, Ravenshead Gains Silver Eco Award
As Christians, we believe that everything on earth belongs to God and that we have a sacred responsibility to take care of it. To recognise their work, St. Peter’s Church in Ravenshead has been awarded the Eco Church Silver Award by A Rocha UK, an international conservation charity.
They have tended the community orchard on Ravenshead Common, supported a project in East Africa tackling climate change, held green-themed fayres showcasing upcycled products and promoting a plastic-free Christmas. They’ve also conducted an energy audit on their buildings and a sermon series on green issues.
And they are not stopping there! St Peter’s is committed to embedding and developing their eco-friendly practices, such as hosting a Summer Fayre with an Eco Theme and Swap Shop as well as continuing their metal recycling in the church foyer.
