Second round of grants now available for church buildings
Historic England grant announces further round of two major grant schemes:
Round 2 of the continuation of the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund is open for Expressions of Interest from 28 August and closing Friday 18 September, 5pm. The Heritage at Risk Capital Fund supports the repair and conservation of historic buildings and sites at risk across England. Churches are considered by exception, although in particularly acute risks of loss this fund has awarded grants (see example here).
Round 2 of the Places of Worship Renewal Fund opens for Expressions of Interest from 4 September and closing Friday 2 October, 5pm. The fund is designed to support the repair of England’s treasured places of worship and is targeted at places of most need. Thank you to dioceses that have responded to an earlier request to let Christina Kaiser how your round 1 applications are progressing. Your responses are used to answer parliamentary questions – parliamentarians remain interested in funding for church buildings – and to continue to make the case for funding ourselves.
Conservation Grants Deadlines
The next grant deadlines for our conservation grants are 14 September for clocks, 5 October for organs, 26 October for monuments, textiles, metalwork, woodwork, and books.
