A Rocha UK’s Eco Church Awards
A Rocha UK’s Eco Church Awards require the churches who apply to demonstrate their commitment to caring for creation, ranging from optimising energy efficiency to discussing climate change in sermons. Recently, the diocese has reached the 5% threshold of Bronze Award churches which we need to achieve a Bronze Eco Diocese Award. More than 50 of our churches are working towards their Eco Church status now, of which 16 have at least a bronze award. St Patrick’s Nuthall achieved their silver
YCCN Climate Relay
The Young Christian Climate Network (YCCN) set out on a relay walk from St. Ives to Glasgow ahead of the UK hosting the COP26 in November. Between these events, there are 750 miles and 140 days as they travel through 10 cities.
Southwell Climate March
During COP26, hundreds of people marched through Southwell to show their concern for the climate as part of the Global Day of Action.
Make a COP26 Prayer Boat
The Young Christian Climate are carrying a model boat on their relay to Glasgow and COP26. Taking inspiration from YCCN’s boat, Christian Aid are asking you to create a prayer boat.
