The Bishop of Natal visits Southwell and Nottingham
The Bishop of Natal, the Rt Revd Nkosinathi Ndwandwe and his wife Zanele, visited Southwell and Nottingham on their way to the Lambeth Conference. Our diocese has been linked with Natal, South Africa for20 years and Bishop Paul and Sarah Williams, Dean Nicola, Archdeacon Phil Williams and members of the Diocesan Natal Group welcomed the Bishop and Zanele to services and events last week.
Immediate aid needed for to avert famine in Africa, Bishop tells the Lords
The Government should increase aid to the Horn of African and East Africa without delay. That was the message from the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, the Rt Revd Paul Williams in his maiden speech in the House of Lords this week.
St Peter & St Paul’s Churchyard Blossoms
St Peter & St Paul’s Shelford have created a flourishing churchyard as they do their part to care for creation. In 2019, the PCC was presented with a report from a firm of arboriculturists about the condition of the trees in the churchyard which implied the need for sums of money which they didn’t have. But then lockdown struck, and nothing happened.
Eaton Village’s Fundraising Hero meets Revd Kate Bottley
For the last 20 years, Eaton village’s matriarch Joyce has been selling plants and fishing nets with an honesty pot outside of her house. The money she raises goes to All Saints’ Church’s fund for a kitchen and toilet to create a community space for their village.
