Easter at Ravenshead
We had a wonderful holy week here in Ravenshead parish which included a bumper attendance at our relatively new Sunday@Four children and family service on Palm Sunday when 66 adults and children came to worship through craft, games, prayer stations, bible stories, music and reflection, plus fun and food. This was followed midweek by Experience Easter when 180 Year 3 and Year 4 children from local primary schools had an immersive experience of the first holy week as part of their RE curriculum. Later in the week it was the adults’ turn to participate in deeply moving services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, culminating in worship altogether on Easter morning – as the sun rose over Newstead Abbey Grounds and a family communion in St Peter’s Ravenshead at 10.30am. Throughout the week we felt God’s presence and blessing as we remembered, reflected upon and responded to Jesus’ death and resurrection.
