Holy Week in the Beck & Trent Benefice

In the Beck & Trent Benefice (Norwell, Ossington, Caunton, Cromwell, Carlton, Sutton on Trent) there was something every day of Holy Week to ponder and celebrate Easter.

On Palm Sunday, Milestone Brewery in Cromwell hosted breakfast from a food van before attendees made the short walk down to St Giles Church for the service. 68 Adults and 10 Children came out to join in what will hopefully be a new annual tradition.

On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday they had Compline at different churches. On Thursday, Ossington hosted a candlelit Tenebrae service. On Friday people came to watch ‘The Chosen: The Last Supper’ in Cromwell village hall, complete with lamb and flatbreads (pictured at the top of the page).

Easter Sunday was full of celebrations including a Dawn service in Caunton, 9AM at Norwell, 11AM in Sutton and 7.30PM in Ossington.

Their new vicar, Rev. David Lewis, described the week as “a very special and memorable Easter.”
