Ordination Stories 2023

Ahead of Deacon and Priest Ordinations on 1 & 2 July, we have been introducing our candidates on Facebook and Instagram. We invited Lauren, Danny and Jacob, three of our deacon candidates, to share their stories of how they were called to follow Jesus and to explore their journeys to ordination.

Deacon Candidate Lauren Simpson reflects on how worship is pivitol to her faith and how she is inspired to help people meet Jesus. She will be serving at Lady Bay Church (All Hallows) with Holme Pierrepont and Adbolton with the Revd Jonathan Mole.

Deacon Candidate Danny Marshall reflects on how his faith journey and his desire to share Jesus amongst people who have lost hope. Danny will be serving with the Revd Chris Lion at St Mary Magdalene with St Leonard, Newark on Trent.

Deacon Candidate Jacob Tryers shares how he became a Christian after he had a genuine encounter with God – something which he hopes to help young people have too. He will be serving at St Wilfrid’s, Nottingham with the Revd George White.
