Start the Month in October with Bishop Paul and Sarah (185) – 3rd October 2025

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

In Start the Month for October, Bishop Paul and Sarah reflect on Psalm 73. Bishop Paul describes ‘four golden verses’ in which the psalmist is compelled to set aside self-interest to be set free by love for God. These verses remind us of the wonder of knowing Jesus, and the eternal hope that He holds out to us.

Bishop Paul and Sarah encourage us to pray these words over those new to faith, and especially for those stepping into leadership across our churches. We pray particularly for our new Lay Ministers being licensed this weekend, that they may be strengthened by God who is our portion forever.
