Journey of Generosity
Following the refresh of our Diocesan Vision early this year, we have focused on Encouraging Generosity across our diocese, with the aim of reaching financial sustainability across the whole diocese by 2035. In recent months this has included a series of Deanery Roadshows that have been hosted wonderfully by a number of different churches.
Aimed for clergy, church wardens, treasurers, and PCCs these events have included stories and testimonies on generosity and giving, information on the current financial situation for the diocese and plans and vision for the journey ahead. The evenings have been well attended by leaders across the deaneries and have provided fruitful conversation, discussion and questions.
Following these, a number of resources are set to be developed to help support churches in their journey of generosity over the coming years. This will include a Frequently Asked Questions guide (developed from the questions and comments shared at the events) as well as video courses and resources for helping encourage generosity at a local level. This includes a helpful booklet on ‘Why Parish Share? A theological reflection’. We will be sharing links to these resources through our website and learning hub in due course.
The next and final roadshow will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Westgate, Southwell NG25 OLD on November 13th for Newark and Southwell Deanery. If you have been unable to attend one of the previous dates in your own deanery, you’re welcome to attend this event.
