Caring for Creation Fund
Churches are being invited to apply for grants from the Caring for Creation Small Grants Fund which has been set up to support churches in the diocese to develop their responses to the challenges of climate change and environmental injustices.
Parishes and churches can apply for grants up to £250 to match fund local responses to climate change and to raise awareness about our call to care for creation.
The Fund has been launched to help churches respond to the Diocesan Environment Policy agreed at Diocesan Synod in May 2022.
There are many ways in which churches are already engaging with this challenge. The Fund will provide support in helping expand this work or in some cases begin a response. These could include helping fund an energy audit, move towards an A Rocha Eco Church Award, fit bird or hedgehog boxes on church estate, plant wildflower seeds, develop a project with a local school, buy resources for children and youth work etc.
The fund is primarily to help churches looking to start new projects but may also support existing work. Note that churches should be registered as Eco churches to receive funding. Churches that are just starting out on their eco journey or striving to reach the next ARocha award level are encouraged to apply. Also that this round is for churches that have not previously received a Caring for Creation Small Grant.
The deadline for the current round of applications is 30th April 2024.
An application form can be obtained here.
